I got in

So I am actually posting this from my phone since I was so busy at work and I need to study tonight.

I am so excited that I was offered a spot in the full time program at uchicago. It will mean big changes in our lives but I think it will also provide a wonderful experience and great opportunities.

Thank you all for the well wishes.

I now return you all to the regularly scheduled radio silence. A week from Saturday is my test.

RIP Lost 2004-2010

So I will be taking a 5 and a half hour break on Sunday to watch the final episode of Lost with Lily (my husband will be gallivanting in Miami). Anyway I saw this video on EW today thought it was very cool. If you like Lost then you will probably enjoy this video, if not... sorry.

happy birthday bill (sort of)

Ok, if you have heard this story before, sorry. But tomorrow is Bill's sort of birthday.

You see back when we were in College, one year Bill and I went into Cleveland for a weekend, and it happened to be cinco de mayo. So my mom decided to throw a party at our house for the large extended family, that way we could see them while we were in town. Mom even made cute homemade invites and sent them out to everyone. This included my now deceased great-grandparents Nana and Grandpa. Now Nana and Grandpa new I was dating an Asian, and when they got the invite which said something to the extent of "Celebrating Cinco de Mayo and Sarah and Bill's Homecoming" the some how interpreted that Bill's name was Cinco and it was his birthday. They were so confused about why we had a pinata etc..
I miss my great grandparents terribly and I so badly wished they could have been there for my wedding (Nana was already hospitalized and barely cognizant when we were engaged at Christmas 6 years ago, she and Grandpa would both pass away in 2004). But thinking about their confusion about Cinco de Mayo always makes me laugh. I think they would be happy for Bill and me (though I am sure they would be wondering why we haven't had kids yet). Anyway, I now always think of them on Cinco de Mayo, and I also always wish Bill a happy birthday.

ack!

Sometimes my job is slow and sometimes everything comes at you all at once. today was one of the later types of days.

Anyway, This weekend was nice... I took Friday off to study so I had a long weekend and boy was it long. Friday I studied most of the morning and part of the afternoon. I also was able to take the dog on a nice long walk and still have time to drive into the city and have dinner with Bill.

Saturday, we had no plans so I nixed Bill's idea of going out to the west burbs and instead we did deep spring cleaning on our family room and bedroom (the rest of the house will have to wait). Bill made yummy scallops and stir fry for dinner and life was good.

Yesterday, we went yay up to the north subburbs and had brunch with our friends at this cool place called pinstripes. We then hung out for the afternoon and before we knew it the whole day was gone. We grilled steak and artichokes and pineapple last night, and I made lentils from scratch (not as hard as I was expecting).

Though the days were nice, we had some very violent storms so I didn't want to plant seeds.... maybe I can do that today. My yard is looking great, though the helicopters are giving Bill nightmares (seriously!) Peapod plants are about 4" tall and I have had 5 asparagus come up so far. The broccoli has needed transplanting for the last week, and hopefully they will survive for a bit longer.

my CFA exam is in 33 days. yikes!!!
