To quote a famous donkey, "Thanks for noticing me." As my title suggests, I am not creative so don't expect cool phrases or neat titles from me. Most of my posts are about my little life on this rock we call Earth.

scans
So last fall I started a project to get a bunch of the old family photos together for scanning. I had seen this deal online that was basically 50% off (buy a gift certificate of x and get 2x in value). I started the project in september, sent the photos out finally in october got the digital proofs online in december and then did nothing with them until this week. I finally went through all of the albums deleting pictures i didn't want and approved the order. today I spent the better half of the evening down loading un zipping and compiling the pictures into one folder. Eventually I would like to go through and sort them. I am pretty sure I have some duplicates (scanned the negative and the photo) and a bunch were just mish-moshed together but here are a few of the old ones i liked.
I just tried to up load a few and the computer gods are not being nice. maybe tomorrow.

Hi from DC
Winnie here. I want to tell you all about my adventures in DC. First we went on a long car ride we stopped to see Grandpa Weber and he gave me bacon. He is now second favorite to Uncle Bacon ( Bobby). Then we got to my new home in DC. I live on the fifteenth floor of a building with lots of doggy friends. I like my new home though there is not as much room to run around inside.
I keep asking mom when dad will get home from work I think he has been gone for too long. Mom seems happy enough - she is always taking me on walks and that is what matters most. Ok time to go nom on a bone.

a long short day
So my first day was a whirl wind of orientations meeting new people and meetings with my bosses and co-workers. It has been a long time since I was the new kid on the block. I hope that the next few days I will settle in and start on my projects.
Tonight winnie and I played on the roof top with some other doggies. It was good to let her run around unleashed. Other than that life is good. It rained last night and this morning so that weather tonight was gorgeous. And the sunset was awesome.
Tomorrow is the summer solstice. maybe i will celebrate with a late evening bike ride.

In DC
So maybe now that I am living in DC I will have time to blog.
Bill and I made the 12 hour trek out on Friday and Bill left today. I will miss him terribly, but I think of people like my friend Mary who endure their husband's deployment for far longer periods of time. Bill is safe and sound in Chicago, not in danger, not halfway across the world.
I am living in Arlington about a 20 min metro ride from work. My place is super dog friendly so winnie should have a great summer. I have plenty of restaurants within a 10 min walk and Arlington is super bike friendly. Overall, I am so excited about my place and my job which will start tomorrow. I will update more after my first day.
