cracking under pressure... or is it the humidity.
I am so glad that other friends read my alumni magazines... mary pointed out my picture in the HB one and Mr. Wang is lucky to have posted on a night when not much else had been through out (yes I had to dig through the trash to find the brief mention of Bill's and my nuptials)
Bill had fun in Vegas... speaking of which have any of you seen the recent "what happens in Vegas..." ads? the one with the landscaper and the home owner? it's funny.
Bill brought me back Alana's CD and a tee-shirt from the nine fine irishmen pub. I guess that is the next best thing to seeing her play. Al-- I will get out there sometime soon I promise. Maybe Mrs. Mary the world traveler will go with.
Ok back to ethics econ and portfolio mgmt... my study focus for the night.
To quote a famous donkey, "Thanks for noticing me." As my title suggests, I am not creative so don't expect cool phrases or neat titles from me. Most of my posts are about my little life on this rock we call Earth.

Quoth the raven
nevermore.
Yes I have Mr. Poe's lovely lyrics in my head currently.
Bill is leaving tomorrow and I hope he breaks even, but we all know that the odds are not even in favor of that. Sweetie, why don't you read bringing down the house one more time....
I will spend this weekend studying. hmmm the only thing to look forward to is the chance that i might be allowed to eat papa johns pizza for breakfast (cold) lunch (hot) dinner (hot) and snack time (cold).
I have been looking at some super zoom cameras. anyone with opinions on the canon S3 IS (or S2 since they are basically the same) or the panasonic DMC FZ7 please send them this way.
Megan I guess a Happy Day was needed, my google calendar says so... too bad it doesn't remind me like RJs super cool friendster /facebook/thingy

9 am
in two weeks from tomorrow at this time i will be sitting in a huge expansive room with my passport, exam ticket and calculator on my desk, #2 pencil in hand and exam book open... just thinking about that moment is giving me those knots in my stomach at only a tremendous test can give. like that day i had 3 papers and a final all in one day, or sitting for the SATs the first time, or going into a stat exam in kent* (or what every that building was called) after having the 24 hour stomach flu. yes I am getting worried/apprehensive/neurotic about this dame exam. I haven't had a chance to read a fiction book since Christmas. I haven't had a week with our carting around stupid workbooks since the beginning of January. I now have dreams of HPY and elasticity and how to manage a put call parity and getting to the exam only to fin that all 240 questions are full length CFO direct and indirect questions. I have been studying, but was it enough to beat out the person to the left and to the right of me? Was it enough to get a 70%? was it enough to remember those inane questions on investing in commodities or what the 7 ways management legally skew accounting numbers in favor of them and not the stock holders.
Then I start to ask myself why the hell i am doing this in the first place. I would much rather be taking public policy classes or econ classes for a masters. for that matter i think i would rather try my hand at orgo before studying for this again.
anyway, i will be back to my normal self in 15 days and 9 hours. at that point none of this will matter, by fate will be decided by the scantron gods and the CFA graders.
*EDIT: Frank has informed me of the location of the stat class rooms, which, I unfortunaly remember, but I know the tests were held in the evening in the chemisty (i think) lecture hall.

less than 20
That is the number of days until my exam. my 6 hours of test taking hell accompanied by a multitude of strangers at the McCormick place. so for 6 hours (with a 1 hour lunch break) i am expected to answer and fill in bubbles at every 1 min and 30 seconds. mind you some of these questions would take an expert at least 5 min or more to solve, but i should take comfort in the fact that i can miss one out of three and probably still pass.... with a pass rate of 36% how many questions does the average candidate miss?
now i am depressed. i am sitting here with piles of work being depressed and wanting to go home and watch a season of gilmore girls before luke sucked and and the writers sucked and the season finale sucked(mostly)... or maybe just og searching for those dark gems we need in our kingdom hearts game... or maybe just bury my head under some pillows until everything blows past and i can stop my crazy obsessive worry-but-do-nothing-ness with this exam.

oh happy day....
so last night i finished my last chapter of reading and am now starting at the begining again. I hope that I have given myself enough time to properly review as the test is now 3 weeks from saturday.
in other news i am not cool with the rain (for a third day in a row) wind (gusts up to 40mph) and temp drop (40 degrees tonight?) I just got new summer clothes so i guess this is what i should expect. (Had I bought more sweaters it would be an unseasonably 85-90 degrees out)
I have my review course tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday (oh joy). I hope it will give me a sense of what i know and don't know.
oh... and happy birthday mr. Kim

Happy birthday Brynn
Actually, her birthday was yesterday, but as she can't read I don't think my blog posting makes a difference.
So everything out in the burbs is supergreen what with all the grey rainy days we have had lately.
Today is the big protest thing that is going on, lucky for me 300000 people wont fit in the federal plaza thing across the street so they are demonstrating in grant park.
The wedding we went to was great fun. I would post a picture but alas our internet at home has been malfunctioning.
So I have this problem that I don't want to study any more... I mean I know I normally don't want to study, but now I am really really avoiding it. So I need people to kick my ass into gear for me. Tell me how much of a waste of money it is if I don't study, tell me the my seasons 1-5 of Gilmore Girls can wait until summer and reruns. Tell me that laundry and exercise are not longer acceptable reasons for shirking on studying, because me telling myself that is not working.
